A clear operating brief helps a business and delivery partner agree on practical responsibilities before the first pickup. Use these points when preparing your enquiry.
Describe the shipment accurately
Record the number of parcels, external dimensions, gross weight and a useful contents description. Tell the delivery partner about fragile or high-value goods before accepting a vehicle arrangement.
Prepare secure packaging
Use packaging appropriate to the contents, close it securely and identify separate parcels clearly. The delivery plan should not rely on a courier repairing unsuitable packaging at collection.
Make the address actionable
Include the delivery address, recipient phone and relevant building or business access instructions. If a shop or office accepts orders only during certain hours, share that receiving window.
Decide how exceptions are handled
Clarify refused orders, unsuccessful attempts and returns before deliveries begin. Ask which handover confirmation or reporting arrangement is included, and whether additional attempts have separate charges.
